I depict moments, dreams, messages, feelings, etc. I create scenes where as invisible hostess, I can invite people to wonder inside a real or surreal world, to share it with you. Many times, painting helps me to assimilate events from my personal life or from my environment. I use art as a tool to communicate my thoughts as I digest them. I depict things accordingly to my personality, fears, passions, desires and quest. My goal is to inspire, to create an image that can make the audience to stare at it for an eternal moment and, be part of the story I am telling.
This group of paintings has been made inspired in moments, places, traditions and people. The birds are used as a representational element depending on their type and personality. The hummingbird is a migratory and beautiful bird, energetic, territorial, delicate. The sea shell are used as a place of birth, contained and asymmetric. The hanging hearths represent vulnerability, exposure and disposition to live. Other hidden elements are left in the scenes to surprise the audience, to make them wonder and guide them to find out the story that each person can tell themselves.

Since I had a daughter I got involved in a world of fantasy, stories, colors, books, animals, etc. I enjoyed discovering ways to make her world unique to enrich her childhood memories.
Working at a commission that needed lots of time and skill, I thought that if I worked in something else at the same time it would be refreshing. I got the thought making my daughter her first painting. Soon after I finished, I wanted to create a little collection of my art for her.
My daughter would steer at my art for a long time and enjoyed being surprised by little details or animals hidden. The project “Fine art for children” was born.
A child is one of the most precious things a person can have in life, and there is no age limit for enjoying fine art in our lives. Art can be appreciated by anyone at any time. Why not giving to our dearest little ones a work of art? They deserve it too.
My series “Fine art for children” is made with lots of love, wishing to make children go inside the scene and wonder in the space, looking what is happening inside the painting, and trying to increase their love and respect for the animals and our planet.
Each painting is made with high quality pigments and, the limited edition prints have the intensity and colors almost identical to the original piece. The limited ed. prints are printed in museum quality fine art paper and can last up to 70 years with the proper care. The prints are limited to 20 per original painting. If you have a question or are interested in ordering one, please contact me for any arrangement.

The series "Mujeres Hay Que Tener Tacto" was a project that won a grant from the Sonoran, Mexican government, FECAS 2010. The FECAS (State Foundation for Sonoran Culture and Arts) is destined to support artistic projects that will enrich the culture of our community culturally and intellectually.
This project was originated by the high incidence of breast cancer that I saw in my state. It was an opportunity for me to create awareness about the importance of self diagnostic against the breast cancer disease.
Being a woman myself I have always felt the fear of loosing my energy, my health. My dear grand mother had died when I was 4 years old and I have precious memories about her, but just a few. Some of my mothers friends fought bravely against this disease, some of them survived and others did not. It is devastating for the families, to loose the presence of their love ones when they could have more years ahead if we just use the self diagnose practice more often.
My paintings reveal a psychological moment, when women use the three fingers technique to feel under their own skin. It was my intention to portray them as real, beautiful and common as they are. The models are women from several ages, some of them had just the worry and others have had surgeries to remove tumors or their whole breast. It was my intention to make the series as real as I could. None of the models accepted to be paid, but they were happy to participate in my project.
My deep appreciation to Gloria Quiroz, Alina Garcia Montijo, Tacila Bezerra, Hope and to the Instituto Sonorense de Cultura for making the series possible.
There was a period in my life where I was going through an intense hormonal treatment. The treatment side effects are different in each women but, the most common would be gaining weight and lack of energy. It was at that time when I had to drag myself to do the everyday activities and my self steam was decreasing after looking the changes in my body.
How many women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, are affected by not being in shape? How many are dealing with aesthetic issues for the unrealistic photoshopic beauty standars that fashion magazines promote? How many suffer from overweight appearance due to hormonal treatments, pregnancy, health situations, working and raising children 24/7? How many women have a hard time accepting their beautiful self?
I was sure I was not alone and I had to talk about it. The series "Obesity Without Pleasure" was made to let the audience appreciate the voluptuous beauty so out of fashion now at days. Golden color predominates in each painting to evoke the precious metal, the jewel quality, our precious inner self despite the shapes that wrap us. It was made to let the viewer sneak in a very private moment.
This series helped me to deal with my own state of sadness, to appreciate my internal beauty and mind. To understand that I was not alone.
My deep thanks to my friend and fellow artist Maria Navarro for sharing a part of her journey.
These paintings where created during my studies of Masters in Fine Arts. My inspiration for some images came from personal experiences such as infertility and the emotional and health issues that came during the treatment.
Some other images were inspired during this period of my life when I was living in Tucson Arizona, USA. A beautiful city that is close to the Mexican border. Great political and complex issues about the illegal migrants crossing to USA from Latin America, are in the news on a daily basis. Witnessing all the suffering and also hearing it from relatives that crossed the desert, made me feel compelled to share my thoughts trough my art.
Art is my voice, it is what I use to connect with people.
